Our mission as a team is to improve human and planetary health through our regeneratively grown organic teas. We are in the process of becoming the first ROC certified tea brand later this Summer. We offer loose leaf, matcha and shelf stable RTD bottled teas and will soon release tea bags, tea pods, cosmetics and whole leaf flakes.

Why our teas are uniquely clean, pure and nutrient rich

Our teas and tea products are single sourced from a 1,000 acre tea plantation on Jeju Island. The local soil is rich in minerals from the native volcanic rocks. Copious rainfall keeps the green tea trees naturally well-watered while the permeable volcanic soil allows for proper drainage. Constant circulating winds keep pests at bay, and the farm’s inland location allows for a mild sea breeze that provides a beneficial salinity. All this creates the optimum environment for our green tea plants to thrive.

Wild Orchard’s green tea trees were born of seeds from our organic sister farm in Mongjung Mountain, first planted on our own Jeju Island estate in 1999. Because our green tea trees were grown from the seed up, not transplanted, they developed deeper roots that allow for superior nutrient absorption from the soil. They were raised wild among weeds for the first two decades in order to acclimate them to a totally natural environment. This ultimately produced a more hearty and resilient green tea, which continues to thrive among the various surrounding wildlife today.

Our green tea farm is maintained 100% organically without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. In 2007, the farm earned both the USDA Organic Certification and the Canadian CanTEST certification after being tested for 268 chemicals. Our regeneratively farmed green teas undergo a unique and thorough 4x washing process upon harvest in order to remove all dirt and ultrafine particulates—a growing problem throughout Asia impacting the quality of teas. Wild Orchard Green Tea proudly presents the cleanest organic green teas available.

Sustainability Goals

We are in the process of becoming the first ROC certified tea brand later this Summer, and thus be a pioneer in regenerative farming in the tea industry.

Our Upcycled Certification by the Upcycled Food Association is also in progress.

We are aiming to look at every facet of our supply chain to have as close to zero impact on the environment. This includes, among other things, compostable packaging and upcycling of brewed tea leaves used for our RTD product line. This involves converting these nutrient dense leaves that would otherwise go to waste into a whole leaf crystal product that our customers can conveniently add to water, soups, salads and sauces to enhance their nutrient intake daily.

Sustainability Achievements

We are a part of 1% for the planet to support non-profit organizations that support planetary health. We are also USDA and EU organic certified and are expected to be the first tea brand to be ROC certified later this Summer.

We’ve also applied for an Upcycled Certification by the Upcycled Food Association for our Whole Leaf Crystal products that we plan on launching this Summer.
