About the SSRS
The Sustainable Streets Race Series (SSRS) is a national initiative by Global Green designed to build long-term community engagement and recurring funding streams for sustainability and resilience projects across the country.
Our vision is to launch annual endurance and community race events in more than 30 cities where Global Green has implemented Sustainable Neighborhood Solutions initiatives. Each race will be part of the broader Sustainable Streets Series while also being uniquely tailored to the needs, history, and priorities of its local community.
Through these events, Global Green aims to combine environmental awareness, public health, community engagement, climate resilience, and local fundraising within a scalable national platform. The funds raised from each race will directly support sustainability, resilience, equity, and community revitalization efforts specific to the host city.
Flagship Event: New Orleans
The flagship race in New Orleans will feature a 5k and a 1-mile community fun run/walk, celebrating the resilience of local residents, marking the city’s recovery, and generating funds to support continued efforts in community adaptability, sustainability, equity, and healthy food access.
Race Day activities include a raffle of items donated by sponsors and local companies, a community-based Farmers Market featuring fresh, locally grown foods and artisan goods, a food drive supporting the NOLA community in need, and live music from local bands
This event brings together residents, local businesses, and national partners for a day of resilience, wellness, and impact, creating lasting change in communities. Proceeds directly support:
