H&M is launching their in-store garment recycling program this week and they brought the new donation bins to our Pre-Oscar Party at Avalon Hollywood on February 20, where guests were asked to bring one unwanted item of clothing (in exchange for a gift card). It’s double the benefit: clothing is diverted from landfills and recycled — and funds raised from the program will benefit Global Green USA. which H&M named as the program’s U.S. beneficiary.
At the event, Sophia Bush and Catt Sadler supported the partnership in style, with both wearing H&M clothing. Longtime Global Green USA supporter Bush’s ivory three-piece suit was made of organic cotton and part of H&M’s Conscious Collection.
“For many years Global Green has been setting a shining example of what it means to be a conscientious consumer and citizen,” said Bush. “They’ve shown me what I’m doing right, and what I can do better. What an amazing opportunity we all have, to be better to our ecosystems and communities every day. To have H&M joining us in this fight, and helping to remind the world that chic and sustainable are in fact one-in-the-same, is such an exciting development!”
