As part of our work supporting the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Go Human campaign, Global Green is installing temporary active transportation demonstrations in six communities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. This effort includes community consensus building, designing and building temporary infrastructure to encourage walking and cycling, and documenting their impacts on how residents move in their communities. The lessons learned from these demonstrations are then shared with city planning officials to help inform permanent active infrastructure improvements. Global Green will be working throughout the year on this effort, with the first two events taking place in Costa Mesa during Earth Day weekend, and Walnut Park in June. Other communities we will be working in include La Canada Flintridge, West Covina, Culver City, and the San Gabriel Valley.
