Global Green is in Oakland, California, this week to identify sustainable neighborhood strategies for the Elmhurst area. Green Urbanism Program (GUP) staff members are working with representatives from the City, USGBC, Raimi + Associates, and neighborhood volunteers to develop recommendations based on the LEED for Neighborhood Development Rating System. Key issues to address are safety, access to open space, home energy efficiency, and healthy local food options.
