Global Green and local U.S. Green Building Council chapters introduced this initiative in response to the devastating Thomas Fire and subsequent mudslides in LA in 2017. Those affected by the fire were eligible to receive free, one-on-one consultations with volunteer green building experts to help homeowners ensure that their homes will be rebuilt sustainably, including being energy efficient and more resilient to future natural disasters.
