In 1994, Maurice Strong and Mikhail Gorbachev launched the Earth Charter initiative with support from the Dutch government. The Charter is a declaration of fundamental principles for building a just society with special emphasis on the world’s environmental challenges. The Charter seeks to inspire a new sense of global interdependence and shared responsibility.

Earth Charter Youth Contest
Students were key players in an environmental education initiative launched by Green Cross Italy, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Education and under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic. It aims to teach and inspire youth to become environmentally conscious and find solutions to environmental problems.
