EcoPlum is a member of the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). The company earned the Green America Gold Business Seal of Approval and is certified nationally as a women-owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Gia Machlin, President & CEO EcoPlum, is a member of the Women Presidents Organization. She is also on the advisory board for Enterprising Women (EW) magazine and was one of a select group of award-winners for their “2020 Enterprising Women of the Year.”

Sustainability Achievements

EcoPlum has been certified as a Green America Gold business since 2011. The company is an active participant in the We Are Still In coalition of 4,000 businesses and other signatories, joining when it formed in 2017 to encourage the U.S. to remain in the international Paris Agreement on Climate following the Trump Administration’s announced plans to exit the treaty. As a company with a social mission, EcoPlum has always made decisions that value people, planet, and profit. In 2020, we changed our by-laws to consider all stakeholders in our decision making, formalizing this commitment in preparation to become a B-Corporation. We met the sustainability thresholds to submit a detailed assessment to B-Lab for review and the process is underway currently.
