Global Green USA will continue to press for an American energy independence policy that combats global warming through binding emission reductions, renewable energy, clean cars, and green buildings.

As a concerned citizen, I thank you for your leadership in the US Senate to ensure robust incentives for renewable energy and hybrid vehicles. As well as your important first steps toward binding greenhouse gas emission reductions to fight global warming.

We can achieve American energy independence and slow global warming, but as you know the answer is not billions of dollars in tax breaks to nuclear, oil, and fossil fuel industries.

I have taken the Pledge of Allegiance to American Energy Independence initiated by Global Green USA. In the spirit of the Pledge, please continue your work to pass policies that invest in renewable technologies, green building, and clean vehicles without billions in subsidies for the oil, coal, and nuclear industries.

Pledge of Allegiance to American Energy Independence - Join the Fight to Combat Global Warming - I hereby declare my pledge of allegiance to America's independence from our nation's economically and environmentally damaging reliance on foreign and domestic oil, and fossil fuels. And - as our nation is 5% of the world's population yet generates 25% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions - to combat global warming. In order to promote the long-term health of the economy, the efficient use of my taxpayer dollars, and need to reduce green house gas emissions, I call upon my elected officials in Washington, DC, to pass legislation that improves fuel efficiency standards, increases investment in renewable energy, and reduces Our nation and world needs a future powered by clean energy -- including solar, wind and other renewable sources -- not coal and nuclear power. I urge our legislative leaders to demand that U.S. automakers increase research, development and marketing for electric, hybrid vehicles and highly fuel-efficient vehicles. I further call upon our elected officials, including state and municipal government agencies, to pass policies requiring green building and the purchase of alternative fuel vehicles and renewable energy for cities. A mix of incentives and requirements must also be provided for the private sector to commit to green building, clean vehicles, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. I hereby accept a personal commitment to improve my own automobile's fuel efficiency through simple maintenance. I also will seek out new car purchases with high fuel efficiency standards or utilize alternative fuel technology, as well as reduce energy use in my home and purchase energy-efficient lights, appliances, and technologies. This I pledge for the well being of the environment, and the security of our nation's, and our world's, future generations.
