We are having our holiday party this week and turned to Nina Storm, our Events Manager extraordinaire, for a holiday cocktail to serve — at any party during this celebratory season.

“My love of orange bitters inspired this non-traditional holiday cocktail,” said Nina. “It is refreshing and complex at the same time. The blend of citrus and spice with chilled vodka (360 Vodka, from our generous sponsor!) provides the perfect balance to rich holiday cuisine.” After-hours, she concocted The Spicy Madame.

The Spicy Madame

For the Clove and Cinnamon Syrup:

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
Four shakes of cayenne pepper powder

Combine ingredients in a saucepan til sugar is melted, and simmer for 30 minutes (enjoy the scent it brings to your home!)

For the Cocktail:
1 1/2 ounces 360 Vodka
1 fresh squeezed organic orange per drink (we used Satsumas)
1/2 ounce clove and cinnamon syrup
Dash of orange bitters
Blood orange slice or a cinnamon stick to garnish

Shake well in cocktail shaker over plenty of ice and serve up in a martini glass.

Set out on a tray and display a grouping of clove spiked oranges as a centerpiece! Cheers!
