Some of the most committed sustainability leaders from New Orleans gathered for our Green Energy/Clean Economy forum on Friday, October 28. Beth Galante, director of our New Orleans office, led the panel discussion centered on the participant’s decisions to invest in solar, biodiesel, river turbines, wetlands restoration and green, socially conscious building. Finalists from the 2012 Water Challenge also pitched their water-related ideas for improving the quality of life in Louisiana’s coastal parishes. After the presentations, the panelists led break-out discussions on what is needed to scale up the green economy in the region, with representatives from each discussion reporting their top three priorities. We plan to use these priorities to guide us in its efforts in 2012 and will keep you informed of our progress. Stay tuned.
